what is sourced and what isn't
No independent study measures how many calls HVAC companies miss. The figures most often quoted come from software vendors. ServiceTitan's own articles cite about 27% of inbound calls missed, citing Invoca, and 18% unanswered on weekdays against 41% on weekends. This page lists each figure with its source, date and caveats.

How to read them
- Every figure here comes from a company that sells phone or scheduling products, so none is an independent measurement.
- The numbers differ because they measure different things: unanswered calls, abandoned calls, and calls in different seasons and shop sizes.
- Both ServiceTitan sources show a weekend figure higher than the weekday one. The size of the gap isn't independently verified.
The number that matters is yours
Your phone provider's call log shows unanswered and abandoned calls by day and hour. That is a better number than any industry average. If you want help reading it, we do a free missed-call audit.
How we keep this page honest
- A figure goes in only with a named source and a date.
- We say when we can't trace a number to its original data.
- We review the page every quarter. The next review is January 2027.
