Why a minute price and a job price are hard to compare

A minute plan charges for time on the phone, whether the call books a job, is a wrong number or is a long question. A booked-job price charges for the outcome. To compare them you need three of your own numbers: calls a month, average call length, and the share of calls that end as booked jobs.

Ruby's page says the plans differ only in how many receptionist minutes they include. Every plan type lists the same features, so the choice is mostly about volume.

Where Ruby may fit better

  • You want a predictable monthly bill sized by minutes.
  • You want people answering every call, with the features its page lists, such as lead intake and an online portal.
  • You are not only an HVAC company and want one provider for several kinds of calls.

Where VoiceBridg may fit better

  • You want to pay only when a call ends with a job on your schedule.
  • You want AI to answer in one ring, with a trained human desk taking over when a caller needs a person.
  • You want HVAC-specific handling: emergencies to your on-call tech, and a safety script first for gas and carbon monoxide calls.
