What we compared, and what we didn't

This page uses only what Smith.ai publishes on its own pricing page. We have not used it as a customer, so we don't describe how it performs. We describe how the two are priced and what each states it includes.

The plans below are the ones on Smith.ai's main pricing page, which describes live-staffed agents. Smith.ai also lists AI-first and hybrid options on separate pages that we have not compared.

A worked example, not a forecast

Smith.ai's Basic plan is $810 for 90 calls, about $9 for each included call. VoiceBridg is $25 for each booked job. Dividing one by the other, $9 ÷ $25, gives about 36%.

So on those two prices alone, a per-call plan costs less when more than about 36 in every 100 calls end as booked jobs, and booked-job pricing costs less when fewer do. Calls that never become jobs, such as wrong numbers, spam and questions, are where the difference comes from.

The two buy different things. A call plan pays for every call answered. Booked-job pricing pays only when a job lands on your schedule. Use your own call log to find your share.

Where Smith.ai may fit better

  • You want a fixed monthly bill that doesn't change with how many jobs book.
  • You want people answering every call, which its page describes as live-staffed agents 24/7.
  • You want agents based only in the US. Its page states no overseas agents.

Where VoiceBridg may fit better

  • You want to pay only when a call ends with a job on your schedule.
  • You want AI to answer in one ring and a trained human desk to take over the same call when a caller needs a person.
  • You want a gas or carbon monoxide call to follow a safety script instead of being booked.
  • You get Spanish-speaking callers.

How to compare any two providers fairly

  • Count your calls for a month, and how many ended as booked jobs.
  • Ask what a provider charges for calls that don't book.
  • Ask how a booked job reaches your schedule today, not later.
  • Ask what happens with an emergency, a gas smell, and a caller who asks for a person.
  • Check the date on any price you are given.
